MANAGER

sales of over US$38 billion. We market more than 300 products
to 5 billion consumers around the globe. Our brands include
Pantene Pro-V, Oil of Olaz, Pampers, Ariel, Bounty, Always,
Ellen Betrix and Pringles. In Switzerland, our Geneva
subsidiary is the European headquarters for the Global
Business Units which manage our product categories. A very

The Job
The
people in Purchases are responsible for sourcing the Company's
multi-billion dollar requirements for the many goods and
services needed to produce world-class consumer products. Your
career will begin as a Purchasing Manager, typically
responsible for spending about $20 million annually.
Purchasing is an integral member of cross-functional business
teams to deliver world-class products to market. You will be
given increased levels of responsibility based on demonstrated
capability to produce outstanding results. Your professional
growth will be supported by our strong training program and
your hands-on experience in your job.
Areas of responsibility can range from raw materials, packages
and equipment to marketing services, software and outside
custom manufacturing services. You will manage your area as
the commercial market expert, recognizing and developing
opportunities as you link P&G strategies and business
needs to our base of suppliers outside the Company. You will
analyze markets, uncover business-building and cost-saving
opportunities, develop and implement innovative sourcing
strategies, solve supply problems, conduct supplier inquiries
and negotiations, and manager P&G's overall relationship
with your suppliers. In upstream programs, you work in close
alignment with R&D to develop and commercialize new
technologies and materials on a regional and global scale
while expanding your sourcing focus beyond known industries
and suppliers. Breakthrough innovation at competitive cost are
in your key focus when developing and maintaining
relationships with your suppliers in this business.
Your Profile
You are
a young University graduate (Business Administration, Law,
Engineering, International Relations, Political Sciences,
etc.) with a very good command of English (French and German
are an additional asset). Opportunities
exist for experienced (typically 1-5 years) and inexperienced
applicants. More importantly, you are a smart,
ambitious, resourceful and dynamic individual with strong
analytical capability, demonstrated leadership and the
attitude to be an effective team player. You are a
self-starter with sharp strategic thinking and the capability
to make things happen. You are strongly motivated to work in
Human Resources and are ready to assume early responsibility.
