Quality in Everything We Do is our motto, our motivation, and our success.

Training concentrates on people skills

Our clients expect us to be able to grasp their questions immediately and respond with proactive, comprehensive solutions. We foster the skills this requires by means of systematic, on-the-job coaching. Our recruitment drives target high-performing and very well qualified young people. In the financial year 2005/2006, we took on over 200 new graduates. We train these highly motivated employees in projects and external training sessions, opening up exciting prospects for them.
In fall 2006, 45 employees became Swisscertified auditors and 15 certified tax experts. We expect a lot of dedication, but we give a great deal back too, investing around 10% of our revenues in training and development. We are quick to reward able people with responsibility. We therefore begin leadership training at an early stage and are expanding the possibilities for bringing people along internally, especially in continental Europe.

Core values

Our employees are what set Ernst & Young apart. They not only need to live up to the highest professional standards; soft skills are becoming increasingly important too. It is essential that all employees abide by the same values, across departments as well as across national borders. Our global internal core values initiative makes it plain what we stand for: integrity, teamwork, leadership and the responsibility to always carry out work correctly and accurately. We have also formalized these values in a Code of Conduct, containing the same values all around the world. It is a binding component of our employment contracts within Ernst & Young and it is externally published on the corporate website (www.ey.com/ch/conduct).As such,we all have to abide by a transparent and comprehensible set of behaviors and principles.

Valuing employees brings concrete results

Respect means valuing people. It also means watching out for one another, consciously promoting dialogue and the critical exchange of information and making full use of input and objections from colleagues to matters in their areas of expertise. One pair of eyes can never catch everything, which is why we set such store by the principle that two heads are better than one, involving experts on particular issues and sharing knowledge.

Diversity

Promoting diversity is important to us not only because it's the right thing to do, but also because diverse viewpoints help us tackle any challenge we face from every angle. We are keen to promote and celebrate diversity at work by providing opportunities that are flexible enough to allow all of our people to fulfill their potential.
